Regular Checkups
The
best form of dental treatment is prevention. Our Hygienists will
discuss home care needs, flossing and brushing to help monitor your
oral health. We want children and adults to have a positive first
experience at our office.
Mercury Free Practice
New white composite fillings can replace those old, dark, metal
fillings that are keeping your smile from being as bright as possible.
We are a "mercury free practice" and no longer use "silver"
fillings. Smaller portions of healthy tooth material are removed
when using composite fillings than when metal fillings are used.
This saves more of the good portion of the tooth keeping the structure
sound.
Comprehensive Health Examinations
The oral examination includes an oral cancer screening and a periodontal
(gum) disease check. We'll also ask about your medical history,
take your blood pressure, and uncover any general health issues
that could relate back to your oral health.
Sealants
Decay often occurs on the chewing surfaces of the back teeth. In
order to prevent decay on those surfaces, sealants, clear plastic
materials, are applied to act as a barrier against these decay-prone
areas. Sealants have long-term effects to help avoid tooth decay.
Root Canal Therapy
Root canal therapy is needed if your tooth's pulp is irreversibly
damaged. The procedure can save teeth that otherwise would require
extraction.
Periodontal Treatment
The single most important factor in stopping periodontal disease
is the control of bacteria. If plaque starts to creep below the
gumline, gingivitis can deteriorate into a condition known as periodontitis,
a more serious form of gum disease. We can work with you to develop
a specialized periodontal program that you can do on your own, thus
avoiding serious gum disease treatment. A number of treatments that
are conservative in use are available.
Diode Laser
Studies show laser surgery can achieve killing 99% of the bacteria
that causes periodontal disease. Laser curettage offers a treatment
option which transforms conventional cleaning with uncertain results
into effective treatment. Therefore, the diode laser can prevent
you from needing more extensive periodontal treatments and surgeries.
The laser is especially useful for cosmetic procedures and several
are performed without anesthesia. This results in a safe and effective
treatment and causes no bleeding or post-operative discomfort.
